Maths Tesselaations

Yesterday we were learning about Tessellations. Nidhi, Shabrin and I were using shapes that can be turned around in different ways. Tessellations are patterns without gaps. Nidhi, Shabrin and I were using . . . Dominos and Cuisenaire rods.  We did Dominos first, then we moved on to Cuisenaire rods and we had great patterns for both Dominos and Cuisenaire rods. I really liked making patterns with Nidhi and Shabrin.

Maths Reflection Art

Last Thursday the class were doing their big alien and colouring them in with pastel. We had to start in our sketching book, then we had to wait till the next day to do our good copy.  Once we had our folded piece of paper we got a pencil and started drawing our picture.  When we were finished drawing we got a black marker and went over the pencil.  After that we started colouring in with the pastels.  Once that was done, we put our alien pictures on the teacher's desk in a grey container.

Dear Greenpeace

31 July 2013

Dear Greenpeace

You won't believe what I found in the pool in the backyard.  A seahorse!  She was an orangy, yellowy, red colour and her tail, face and the spikes on her back were red.  That's why I called her Reddy.  I told Mum the whole thing and she was so surprised.  Then I asked Mum if I could go and get a fishtank for my seahorse.  When I got it, I put it in the lounge and feed her some fishfood. I turned the light off and said, "Goodnight" and went to bed.

The next day I jumped out of bed, got dressed and went to check on my seahorse.  I saw her dancing gently through the water gracefully like a ballerina.

Could you please send me some information on seahorses.
